Art Will Save the World is a love based project of Lucky 20 Productions. It reflects our belief that art has the incredible power to inspire and uplift the hearts of all people. Beyond that, art has a tangible positive impact on economics, improving people's standard of living and broadening horizons.
Jerian Franco - Jeri is currently the Artistic Director and Executive Producer at The BiTSY Stage where all performances are free, but she has been involved in the arts all her life. Her grandmother was a playwright (A Worm in Horseradish), and both of her parents were very involved in The Westchester Children’s Players, a troupe that brought theater to under-privileged children all over the five boroughs of New York. Throughout her childhood and young adulthood, Jeri performed in several productions. But her background led to an evolving interest in theater and the theater arts. When the opportunity to own and operate a small community theater in Denver presented itself, it was a perfect fit. The impact of free theatre on the local community is something she has experienced first-hand and she truly believes that, if we allow ourselves to be inspired, “Art Will Save The World.”
Samantha McDermott - Samantha has been in theater her entire life and directing for 12 years. She began directing in Manhattan at the Theater Studio Inc. In 2007 she relocated to Denver and in 2010 began directing at The Betsy. Shows at The Betsy include: Flaming of The Shrew, Juliet & Romeo : The Panopticon, The Travesty of Lear, Beth, Hamlet and Othello. She was thrilled to begin working on The BiTSY Stage with fresh inspiration drawn from international fairy tales. And has so far directed The Stonemason’s Wish and Sadko’s Song. She really enjoys doing theater that communicates a valuable message and fosters cultural understanding and inclusion, especially when it comes to younger audience members.
Shannon McAndrews - Shannon has an extensive advertising and marketing background, and is working on her Masters in Social Work at the Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work in NYC. The moment she spoke with Jeri regarding Lucky 20 Productions she knew she wanted to be part of this creative community. A resident of Brooklyn New York, she is constantly inspired by Jeri and her passion to promote art that has transformed communities in so many ways.
We provide high quality, FREE theatrical productions for the whole family. Our adaptations of international folktales celebrate the things we all have in common while exploring the differences that make our world so rich. Based in Denver, Colorado.
